100% cotton cord, also known as pure cotton cord, is cords made of natural cotton fibers. Our pure cotton cords are in rounded or tubular flat shape in a diverse diameter to satisfy different needs. The 100% cotton cord features super soft and skin-friendly characteristics, they are knitted or braided in solid or hallow structures to use on garments, shoes, bags or DIY items.

Cotton Cord Weaving Structure
Twisted Cord
Twisted cotton cord features multiple strands of threads twisted together in a tight helix pattern. Usually available in 2-4 strands options, they are good for general-purpose applications like shopping bag handles, or for macramé and decorative work.
Common cord size: 3mm-20mm.
Heavy duty work use size: 20mm-50mm.
Braided Cord
Braided structures, formed by interlacing strands, result in a flat or rounded cotton cord with excellent flexibility and a consistent, uniform look. The braiding technique ensures the cord resists unraveling and holds its shape effectively. The braided cotton cords are ideal for garment accessories, handles, and uses that demand a smooth, reliable texture.
Diamond Braid (Solid)
It's a tight, tubular braided construction with a distinctive diamond pattern on the surface. This structure provides excellent strength and uniform stretch. Highly resistant to abrasion and ideal for functional applications like drawstrings and utility cords.
Hollow Braid
Tubular construction with a hollow core, offering lightweight flexibility with good strength. Thus, making the cords very soft for knotting and folding. Excellent for decorative applications and projects requiring elastic properties.
Flat Braid
Woven in a flat, ribbon-like configuration rather than round. It provides even and wide surface area and a clean look. They are usually used for straps, drawstring cords, shoelaces, decorative trim and etc.

Cotton Cord Color
Natural color: Undyed cotton cord color is beige (off white) that looks minor yellowish.
Snow white color: By bleaching to a bright white color.
Dye to match: Any color to match fabric color by cotton threads pre-dyed to ensure vibrant, long-lasting colors that resist fading even with regular use and washing.
Remark: 100% cotton cord has little black dots of the cottonseeds, which could be removed by special care if customers require.
Cotton Drawstring Cords
Despite of the cotton cord structure, they could be made as drawstring cords for different applications. In Maysun, we have produced various of cotton drawstring cords with all types of end caps to use on hoodies, pants, sweaters, pullovers to adjust the fit or enhance fashion look.
Burning Test for Pure Cotton Cord
To judge whether a cord is pure cotton cord, besides by seeing and touching, we can do a simple and reliable test -burning test. As cotton rope is a flammable material, it burns quickly and continuously. And even leaving the flame, it continues to burn. The flame is yellow and without obvious black smoke produced during the burning. The smell of the burning is similar to the burning of a paper, not any irritation or chemical odor.
After the combustion is over, the cotton cord will be completely transformed into gray-white or gray-black powdery ash, with a crisp texture and will break when touch by hand. Unlike chemical fiber materials, cotton rope will not form lumps or melts (such as gelatinous lumps) after burning.

They cotton cords are widely used in garments manufacturing and DIY creations. Used for garment manufacturing, they could be used as hoodie strings, shoelaces, drawstring cords for bags, and etc. For DIY and handmade creations, they are used for binding or practical handicrafts.

The regular and common diameter of a round cord is 3mm to 20mm and a flat cord is 5mm to 20mm. And for heavy duty work cords we can make them maximum to 50mm. Need a specific thickness? No problem! Just contact our professional sales team for the details.

Order is allowed for any length from small spools (100 meters) to manufacturing bulk quantities (1000+ meters). We can pre-cut cords to your exact specifications or provide continuous lengths on spools or reels for manufacturing efficiency.

While our standard product is 100% cotton, we can create custom blends incorporating other fibers like polyester, nylon, linen, hemp, or bamboo to achieve specific performance or aesthetic characteristics.
