Double Fold Bias Binding Tape

For the perfect clean, finished edge, there's Bias Tape. Bias Tape is used to finish raw edges and hems or as decorative trim. It's available in double fold or single fold styles.

Double fold bias binding hemming tape is a hemming auxiliary material with a four-layer structure formed by a special folding process. Compared with single-fold hemming bias tapes, it is thicker, stiffer and more decorative, and is often used in clothing filed that require enhanced edge texture or structural support.

Folding method for the double fold bias binding tape: Fold the fabric twice along the center line to form a four-layer overlapping tape structure (as shown in the figure below):

Original fabric → Fold in half for the first time (two layers) → Fold in half for the second time (four layers) → Press and fix → Sewing edge

Material: General material is 20% cotton and 80% polyester.

Width: The common width is 1cm (3/8'') and 1.5 cm (5/8'').

Colors: Maysun webbing and cords factory has made a regular running stock colors for the double fold bias binding tapes, more than 100 colors are stock.

MOQ: 1-2 rolls per color if the color is in stock. MOQ is 3-5000 meters per color for customized dye to match colors. But that could be negotiated.

Samples status: We offer free available samples for 1-5 meters for quality checking.

Package: Common packing is in the rolls by the yards, 50 yards per roll. Customized packing could be negotiated.

1.Strong decorative effect: The double-folded bias binding tape can add rich decorative effects to the edges of items. By choosing the double fold binding tapes of different colors, materials and widths, it can meet various design requirements and make items more beautiful and personalized.

Single folded bias tape is folded once and the edges meet in the middle. It's usually only used on one side of the fabric, so it's a perfect choice for a decorative trim or hem facing. When apply to finish an edge, the tape will only be visible on the "right" side of the fabric.

Double folded bias tape is folded twice: To fold once so that the edges meet, and again down the middle. It's great to use as a binding because it can be folded over to encase an entire edge. Double fold bias tapes are good for binding quilts, hems, and other raw edges or to create a casing.

Double fold bias tape is the most common type used. It typically comes 1 cm (3/8''), 1.2 cm (1/2'') and 1.5 cm (5/8'').

Advantage: Stiff and stylish

The double fold four-layer structure provides stronger support and is not easy to deform.

Limitation: Thick

Not suitable for extremely light and thin fabrics (such as chiffon).

Advantage: Outstanding decorativeness

The visual level can be enhanced through visible stitching, contrasting colors or material gloss.

Limitation: Low flexibility- Poor elasticity, not suitable for curved surfaces or highly elastic parts

Advantage: Strong wear resistance

Multi-layer superposition improves the edge's anti-friction ability, suitable for parts that are worn frequently.

Limitation- Complex process

Many folds, and the labor cost is higher than single fold edge tape.
