At the beginning, not many clients knew about this type of drawcords as they are "new". Originally, we developed and produced those cords for H&M kids wear, which are manufactured in Bangladesh. The original styles and colors of the silicone dipped drawstring cords are limited. But with years gone, we have been adding more fashion and luxury designs with customer's needs.
And gradually, the silicone dipped drawcords are accepted by more customers as they are lightweight and could be custom made easier, not to say that they look fashion and nice on the clothes. Nowadays, they are quite popular as the garment accessories and easily seen on hoodies, pants, bags, shoe laces and etc.
Well, as a manufacturer for the silicone dipped drawcords, we would tell you how are our silicone dipped drawcords are produced. In our company, we have two methods to produce such cords: By manual work and by machine.

Silicone dipping by machines, how?
1. Equipment/material Required
Rope dipping machines (also called cord head soaking machines)
Silicone or rubber liquid /powder
Silicone or rubber solution tanks
Drying/curing equipment
2. Dipping Process
The rope dipping machine operates by submerging the cords or ropes into a tank of silicone or rubber liquid, after the cord ends are well dipped, the machine will put them through a drying or curing process. This ensures that the silicone or rubber adheres properly to the cords and provides long-lasting durability.
Silicone dipping by manual work, how?
There's not any machine required if the drawcords tips are manually dipped. All needed is a certain number of skilled craftsmen, and the production could be proceeded in below methods:
1. Cut the cords/ropes to the specific length as customers require, this process could be done by the ropes cutting machine.
2. Prepare the silicone liquid, which is an important step as it decides whether the silicone ends could satisfy the clients' needs. Whether the ends colors and finish can meet with the customers demand or match with the color standards, it's a key factor of techniques.
3. The skilled craftsmen will dip the ends of the cords to the cup which is full with silicone liquid.
4. We have a big workshop with the shelf which could hang the silicone dipped drawcords on them to get them dry.
5. Finally, after 2-3 days, the silicone dipped drawcords are ready to ship.
This method has nothing to do with the machine, it's overall natural manual work, so when the weather is mild, the silicone dipped ends will need longer time to get dry.

The Common Manufacturing Steps for Both:
Cord Preparation: Start with the base drawcords and tailor the cords to be certain length as customers require. The cords length could be 5cm-200 cm in our company.
Dipping: No matter by machine or manual work, the dipped ends would be made in the colors/size as customers need. The dipping size of a could be could 5mm-10cm.
Skill: Pull the cords through the silicone at controlled speed, no matter by machine or labor work.
Curing: Process through drying/curing to set the silicone coating
Quality Control: Ensure proper adhesion and durability
Customization Options
Colors: We can make any color on the dipped ends you want, you can offer us a pantone color or color swatch.
Logos: Silk print is available on the silicone dipped ends, graphics, words, logo, brand symbols and more could be applied for the print.
Cord Types: Polyester/nylon/cotton cords, all can be dipped with the silicone end treatment. And the cords shapes could be flat or round or flexible shape.
